I sing, play guitar and have been entertaining in care homes for quite a few years now.

My experience in this field has led me to understand the importance of connecting and engaging with my audience. some will dance, some will sing along, others will tap their feet or hands to the music. All of this is their way of communicating with me - and that’s my goal - to put a smile on their faces.

Music has the power to transport us to another time and place. I love to harness that power with my audience and try to allow them to forget their indifferences for the short time I'm with them and brighten their day.

Ever since I was a child I was surrounded by magical musical times with my folks. We would sit in the living room as my father played either the guitar, clarinet or squeezebox while my mother sang. As me and my siblings grew older we joined in and although we were only messing around I taught myself to play guitar along the way.

That was many years ago and thanks to those times I now carry those cherished memories and emotions with me and channel them into performing and writing my own songs. You can also find me listed on www.carehome.co.uk   and at www.housingcare.org
